Gyeonggi-do to Also Provide Civil Complaints Consultation During Pre-Consulting Audits

Gyeonggi Province will also accept 'delayed civil complaint consultations' during its on-site pre-consulting audits conducted at local city and county offices.

Gyeonggi Province announced on the 17th that the on-site consultation desks for pre-consulting audits will operate on a rotating basis at 31 cities and counties and 28 public institutions under the province from this month 29th, starting with Siheung and Goyang cities and KINTEX, until June 7th.

At these on-site consultation desks, Gyeonggi Province will provide consultations not only for city and county officials and public institution employees but also for civil petitioners whose permit applications have been delayed due to unclear authoritative interpretations.

Civil petitioners wishing to use the on-site consultation desks can fill out the consultation application form related to permit applications posted on the Gyeonggi Province pre-consulting audit website (www.gg.go.kr/gg_thanks) or the respective city or county websites and submit it to the audit department of the city or county.

In particular, to support the prompt response to civil complaints and fair and lawful work processing of public institutions under the province that carry out provincial projects on-site, the on-site consultation desks will be expanded to include public institutions again this year, following last year.

Depending on the consultation content, minor issues will have solutions proposed on-site, while matters requiring in-depth review will be addressed by receiving a pre-consulting audit, followed by legal advice and consultations with central government ministries to find solutions.

Lee Hee-wan, the Chief Auditor of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "The pre-consulting audit system is designed to provide solutions and directions so that public officials who tend to handle tasks passively due to fear of disadvantages can actively perform their duties." He added, "We plan to continuously expand the on-site consultation desks to public institutions so that not only frontline public officials but also public institution employees can handle their work more actively and promptly."
