Yeosu Tourism Web Drama 'Hamel' Trailer Released

Promotion of Yeosu World Islands Expo and International Web Fest through Globalization of Web Dramas

Yeosu City (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced that the trailer for the ninth Yeosu tourism web drama, "Hamel," will be released on the 17th at 6 PM on Yeosu tourism SNS "Healing Yeosuya."

"Web Drama Hamel" is a human fantasy romance based on the Dutch Hamel's castaway story, depicting the love and hardships of the MZ generation against the backdrop of the romantic city of Yeosu.

The story follows a travel writer protagonist who helps Hamel escape, traveling between the Joseon Dynasty past and the present, reflecting on the importance of daily life and family, and rediscovering the meaning of life.

It consists of a total of five episodes: Episode 1 is "Broken Compass," Episode 2 is "Distortion of Time and Space," Episode 3 is "Lost Daily Life," Episode 4 is "Everyone is a Stranger," and Episode 5 is "Light of the Sea and Time."

In particular, viewers can see Yeosu’s famous spots and tourist attractions in the drama, including Hamel Lighthouse, a representative photo spot of Yeosu’s night sea, Bonghwasan Mountain and Seonso in Hwayang-myeon with a panoramic view of beautiful Yeosu, Hamel Exhibition Hall, Eleven Bridge, Geunkeut Lighthouse, and Jasan Park.

Shin Young-ja, Director of Tourism, stated, "This web drama, based on the Dutch Hamel, secures diverse genre content and will serve as a stepping stone for promoting the 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo and the 1st Yeosu International Web Fest through the globalization of web dramas. Additionally, by incorporating Yeosu’s beautiful tourist resources into the web drama, it is expected to contribute to the globalization of the Yeosu brand."

Meanwhile, Yeosu City plans to hold a preview screening of "Hamel" at the Yeosu City Hall Culture Hall on the 30th, followed by its release at 12 PM on the Yeosu tourism SNS "Healing Yeosuya" YouTube channel.
