"Will Respond Painfully" Statement
As Israel has announced a counterattack against Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, the President of Iran, has warned of a strong response.
According to Iran's state-run IRNA news agency, President Raisi said on the 15th (local time) during a phone call with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, that "any small act against Iran's interests will be met with a severe and extensive painful response."
On the same day, news emerged from Israel that the cabinet, convened in response to Iran's retaliation, was discussing plans for a counterattack. Current media reports suggested that while avoiding full-scale war, the response to Iran would be "painful."
President Raisi also explained during the call regarding the retaliatory airstrikes against Israel that the "Operation Promise of Truth" to punish the perpetrators "has been successful."
