On the 16th, Changwon City in Gyeongnam held the entrance ceremony for the '4th Changwon Master Cooking School Master Course' at Masan University, attended by 20 representatives from the food service industry, Changwon Mayor Hong Nam-pyo, Masan University President Lee Hak-jin, and other officials.
The Changwon Master Cooking School is a project initiated by Changwon City in 2021, the first local government to do so, aimed at discovering local popular restaurants and developing the food service industry in Changwon by strengthening the capabilities of food service business owners. This year marks the 4th session, and over the past three years, 64 graduates have completed the program.
This year, the city selected 20 business owners through a rigorous screening process, and the entrusted institution, Masan University, will operate the 4th Changwon Master Cooking School Master Course from April to November.
The Master Course is a capability enhancement education program for food service operators, featuring professional chefs with extensive practical experience in various fields, including Chef Shin Hyo-seop and several renowned special instructors who are invited to share their know-how. The program includes developing new menus through diverse cooking practice, on-site consulting visits to businesses, and education on food service trends and SNS marketing techniques.
Mayor Hong said, “I sincerely congratulate you on your admission to the Changwon Master Cooking School. While it may be challenging to attend school while running a business, I hope you approach the course with pride and confidence in creating flavors that represent Changwon, and apply the knowledge and experience gained at the university to the food service industry to build a better future,” encouraging the new students.
