As the U.S. Department of Commerce announced semiconductor subsidy support for Samsung Electronics, attention is focusing on iMarket Korea's industrial complex development project underway in Taylor, Texas. iMarket America, the U.S. subsidiary of iMarket Korea, is accelerating the establishment of a master plan to develop a complex advanced industrial complex on the 260,000-pyeong land it purchased in Taylor, Texas.
On the 16th, iMarket America announced that it is establishing a master plan aligned with the direction of phased expansion development, starting with approximately 100,000 pyeong of land as the first phase.
Since last year, it has built partnerships with global comprehensive real estate service company CBRE, as well as engineering and construction specialists such as Gansam Architects and Kimley Horn. They are identifying the necessary elements for developing an advanced industrial complex from the initial stage to establish a highly complete development plan.
The master plan includes infrastructure supply plans such as roads, water and sewage, electricity, and gas to facilitate smooth production activities for tenant companies in the industrial complex, as well as layout plans for logistics warehouses, manufacturing/production facilities for tenant companies, R&D centers, and convenience facilities such as offices and retail for other tenant companies. After establishing the master plan, iMarket America plans to complete all necessary permits and approvals for infrastructure construction with local government agencies including Taylor City throughout the year and begin construction of the first phase site in early 2025.
On the 15th, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced a plan to provide $6.4 billion in semiconductor subsidies to Samsung Electronics. Samsung Electronics also hinted at additional investments in Taylor, Texas. In line with this trend, iMarket Korea is expected to accelerate the creation of the foundational environment necessary for industrial complex occupancy so that semiconductor-related companies can invest and enter at their desired timing. Additionally, iMarket Korea plans to provide customized total solutions such as industrial material supply and logistics services for tenant companies.
