Lifestyle-Oriented Service Support
"Cheongsong Where Everyone Lives Well"
In Cheongsong-gun, known as the Oxygen Cafe, there is a reliable, father-like figure who comes running at the sound of a phone call to resolve minor everyday complaints such as light bulb replacements and water leaks.
This is the ‘8282 Civil Complaint Handling’ service, first introduced in January 2023.
The ‘8282 Civil Complaint Handling Service’ can be used up to four times a year by all households registered in Cheongsong-gun, and the support scope is limited to actual residences excluding vacant houses, warehouses, and commercial buildings. For vulnerable households (single or couple aged 65 and over, low-income or basic livelihood security recipients, etc.), materials costing up to 50,000 KRW per visit are provided, while other general households can receive service support after preparing materials themselves and applying.
In the first quarter of 2024, 1,738 cases from 808 households were received, and 1,690 cases from 782 households, accounting for 96.8%, were resolved. Complaints that the mobile team could not resolve are directly referred to specialized companies to actively alleviate the inconveniences of the complainants.
Additionally, the elderly aged 65 and over and marginalized groups such as basic livelihood and low-income households accounted for 92% of all requests, which is evaluated to have greatly contributed to improving the living conditions and quality of life for these marginalized groups who had endured inconveniences in daily life.
Among the eight towns and townships, Pacheon-myeon had the highest usage rate at 12% relative to the number of households, and the service is being used evenly across other towns and townships as well. The ‘8282 Civil Complaint Handling Team’ visited the Cheongsong-gun Senior Club and caregiver training sites in March to promote the project, and plans to intensify publicity efforts so that every resident of Cheongsong-gun can use the ‘8282 Civil Complaint Handling Service’ without exception.
Governor Yoon Kyung-hee said, “I often hear the saying these days that ‘the number one filial son in Cheongsong-gun is the 8282 Civil Complaint Handling Team,’ which makes me very proud,” and added, “Starting in May, we will begin accepting applications for insect screen repairs and maintenance in preparation for the summer heatwave, so we hope for many applications. We will continue to discover services that residents can personally feel and strive to make Cheongsong a place where everyone lives well.”
