Donation of 10 Million KRW to Busan's Only Semiconductor Department

Fostering Skilled Talent through University-Industry Win-Win Cooperation

Gyeongnam Information University (President Kim Tae-sang) announced on the 16th that the Department of Semiconductor recently received a development fund donation of 10 million KRW from SemiZ Co., Ltd., a specialized semiconductor equipment company led by CEO Kim Jin-seok.

SemiZ Co., Ltd. is a semiconductor equipment maintenance specialist company that has consistently hired students from this university since its establishment in 2008 and also participates as a partner company in the Technical Talent Development Project.

Kim Jin-seok, CEO of SemiZ Co., Ltd., said, "The Department of Semiconductor at Gyeongnam Information University is the only department among specialized colleges in the Busan area that trains next-generation semiconductor technology personnel," adding, "We are grateful to the university for its wholehearted support for the company's development, and although this is a small contribution, we hope it will help nurture professionals in the related field."

Kim Tae-sang, President of Gyeongnam Information University, expressed his gratitude, saying, "On behalf of all faculty and staff, I sincerely thank CEO Kim Jin-seok for his support toward the university's development despite the difficult domestic and international economic conditions," and added, "We will strive to become a university that not only cultivates semiconductor professionals, the foundation of Korea's industry, but also contributes to regional economic development through win-win cooperation with companies."
