Police Launch 'Low Birthrate Countermeasures TF'... "Listening to Field Officers' Difficulties"

On the 16th, the National Police Agency announced the launch of a task force (TF) for low birthrate countermeasures aimed at police personnel.

The TF will develop comprehensive measures related to work patterns, personnel systems, and financial support throughout the life cycle from marriage to pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare, as police members face difficulties in parenting amid shift work and various emergency mobilizations.

In particular, the task force plans to listen to the difficulties faced by police officers in the field and seek solutions. A team will be formed mainly of field staff to consider solutions, and the National Police Agency will also conduct a comprehensive review to find practical measures.

The police also plan to prepare an internal guidebook compiling low birthrate and childcare-related systems currently implemented by 243 local governments nationwide, so that employees can utilize it.

Yoon Hee-geun, Commissioner of the National Police Agency, stated, "We aim to create an environment where members can achieve both 'happiness at home' and 'self-realization at work' without worry, by driving changes that reflect the voices of police officers in the field."
