This allows businesses to purchase high-quality dried Rehmannia root at a more affordable price, and consumers can enjoy Ssanghwa tea brewed with premium Jeongeup Jiwhang, helping to widely promote the excellence of Jiwhang, a specialty product of Jeongeup.

A city official stated, “Jeongeup Jiwhang was so highly regarded that it was presented to kings during the Joseon Dynasty for its superior taste and quality,” adding, “We hope visitors come to Ssanghwa Tea Street to taste Jeongeup Ssanghwa tea.”

The reason Jeongeup’s Ssanghwa tea is considered special is that Jeongeup is the main production area of ‘Jiwhang,’ the key ingredient of Ssanghwa tea.

Currently, about 50 Ssanghwa tea houses operate in Jeongeup, and Ssanghwa Tea Street, which attracts numerous tourists every year, offers the unique traditional aroma and memories of Jeongeup.
