Korea Airports Corporation Jeju Airport (Airport Director Kim Bok-geun) announced on the 16th that it has signed a business agreement with DHL Korea, an overseas specialized delivery company, and launched a service that allows departing customers to receive lost items directly overseas even if they lose items at Jeju Airport.
Through this service, Jeju Airport connects customers who have lost items reported at the Lost and Found Center with DHL after verifying their identity.
DHL provides comprehensive delivery services including packaging, pickup, payment, and customs clearance, enabling customers to receive their lost items directly overseas.
This lost item overseas delivery linkage service is the first to be implemented at Jeju Airport among the 14 airports nationwide operated by the corporation.
Since the social distancing measures were lifted, overseas passenger lost items have been continuously increasing due to the surge in international travelers. However, departing customers faced complaints and dissatisfaction as there was no way to receive lost items directly due to issues such as delivery fees and customs clearance.
In response, Jeju Airport plans to provide customized services tailored to the needs of various customer groups through a service partnership with DHL.
Kim Bok-geun, Director of Jeju Airport, said, “We hope that the experience of safely receiving lost items from overseas travel destinations will leave good memories of traveling in Jeju,” and added, “We plan to continuously realize customer satisfaction by providing customized services necessary for overseas customers using Jeju Airport in line with the recovery trend of international flights.”
