The organization will conduct '2024 Smart Consulting with Big Data (Bigttokcon)' at 1:30 PM on the 23rd at the annex of Sangyeonjae City Hall Station Branch.

The event will be attended by basic local governments nationwide, tourism venture companies, and tenant companies of regional tourism enterprise support centers. Along with an introduction to the Bigttokcon project, participants will gain insights into recent tourism industry trends such as tourism development policies and major tourism trends through expert lectures. Applications can be submitted online until the 19th.

The Bigttokcon project has been conducted over the past four years targeting 48 local governments.

A representative success case is the 'Beach Cinema' project at Byeonsan Beach in Buan-gun, Jeonbuk. Based on big data analysis results showing a high proportion of nighttime visitors but a lack of entertainment options, the organization proposed operating a pop-up nighttime cinema, resulting in a 15% increase in visitors last year compared to the same period the previous year.

This year, through a public contest, 10 projects will be selected and supported in the fields of in-depth customized consulting (8 projects) and performance analysis (2 projects). The plan is to enhance project execution by providing data-based status analysis, consulting at each implementation stage, region-tailored project proposals through mentoring group advice, and strengthening internal and external collaboration links.

The public contest will be held for about two weeks from the 26th to May 10th. Any basic local government nationwide can participate, but in-depth customized consulting is limited to local governments without prior project participation history. Detailed information about the contest will be available from the 25th on the Korea Tourism Industry Portal ‘Touraz’.
