KT&G Employees Volunteer Group and Over 200 Participants
Planted Over 15,000 Trees Since 2013
KT&G Welfare Foundation announced on the 16th that it conducted a tree planting activity at Bukhansan National Park with a total of about 200 participants, including KT&G employees volunteer group and university student volunteers.
This tree planting activity took place at the Dobong branch of Bukhansan National Park, where the forest had been damaged due to household waste and illegal facilities. Participants planted 1,500 native Bukhansan trees, including Spiraea and Euonymus, and carried out compost spreading and watering work.

Since 2013, KT&G Welfare Foundation has been continuing tree planting activities in Bukhansan with the purpose of preserving natural parks within the city. Up until last year, a total of more than 15,000 trees have been planted in the Bukhansan National Park area.
A KT&G Welfare Foundation official said, "We have been conducting tree planting activities for 12 years this year to contribute even a little to the restoration of Bukhansan forests and environmental improvement," adding, "We will continue to take an active interest in solving various environmental issues."
Previously, from 2006 to 2012, KT&G Welfare Foundation planted a total of 38,000 trees in the wildfire-affected area of Naksansa Temple in Yangyang-si, Gangwon-do. In addition, in 2019, it established the 'Mongolia Agroforestry Education Center' to prevent desertification in Mongolia and is carrying out various forest creation activities in domestic and international areas requiring ecological restoration.
