Shin Jinseo 9-Dan Defeats Kim Myunghoon 9-Dan to Win Second Consecutive Title

Dongseo Foods announced on the 16th that Shin Jinseo 9-dan defeated Kim Myunghoon 9-dan in the second game of the finals of the '25th Maxim Coffee Cup Ibsinchoegangjeon' to claim the championship.


Shin Jinseo 9-dan achieved the remarkable feat of winning the championship for the second consecutive year following last year, and now holds a total of three Maxim Coffee Cup titles from 2019, 2023, and this year.

The champion Shin Jinseo 9-dan will receive a championship trophy along with a prize of 50 million KRW, while the runner-up Kim Myunghoon 9-dan will be awarded a trophy and a prize of 20 million KRW. The awards ceremony will be held on the 29th at the Westin Chosun Seoul Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul.


Sponsored by Dongseo Foods and hosted and organized by the Korea Baduk Association, the 'Maxim Coffee Cup Ibsinchoegangjeon' is a domestic competition exclusively for professional Go players ranked 9-dan, and is one of Dongseo Foods' representative social contribution activities aimed at expanding the base of Go culture.
