Regarding President Yoon Suk-yeol's announcement to establish a Legal Senior Secretary's Office (tentative name) overseeing the Office of Public Official Discipline Secretary and the Office of Legal Secretary under the Chief of Staff, Go Min-jung, a Supreme Council Member of the Democratic Party of Korea, claimed it is a "judicial risk defense measure."

On the 16th, on MBC Radio's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus,' Go said, "The establishment of the Legal Senior Secretary is interpreted as a move to defend against special investigations into the First Lady that may arise in the future," adding, "Establishing the Legal Senior Secretary's Office at this point is a measure to defend against judicial risks."

Regarding President Yoon's personnel reshuffle following the April 10 general election defeat and his deliberation over appointing a successor Prime Minister and Chief of Staff, Go said, "It seems like the beginning of a kind of lame duck period." She added, "Many people are citing the president as the cause of the election defeat, so it is uncertain whether appointments can be made. In the late stage of a presidency, the people who stand by the president with their lives are the ones who stay. Currently, names like Kwon Young-se and Won Hee-ryong are being mentioned, but they are denying having been contacted."

She continued, "If the president were popular, there would be responses like 'I will try (to take the position),' but that is not the case. It seems there is no one willing to take the role."

Meanwhile, Go pointed out that with the opposition bloc holding 192 seats, the Democratic Party's first priority should be the special investigation into Corporal Chae. She said, "I hope the political world will no longer be ashamed in the face of Corporal Chae's death," adding, "The Democratic Party has sufficient will, and the conditions in the National Assembly are in place to make it possible immediately."
