Day and Night Enforcement Points Around Hiking Trails and Golf Courses Subject to Frequent Changes
The Muan Police Station in Jeonnam announced on the 16th that it will strengthen crackdowns on drunk driving during the spring outing season to prevent alcohol-related accidents caused by outdoor activities and various drinking gatherings.
The intensive crackdown during the spring outing season will last for about nine weeks from the 15th of last month to June 14th. The checkpoints will be frequently changed every 30 minutes to 1 hour, day and night (including weekends), around venues with heavy vehicle traffic such as event sites, tourist attractions, amusement parks, hiking trails, and golf courses. This aims to raise drivers' awareness of drunk driving and create an atmosphere to eradicate drunk driving.
In particular, during this period, in addition to drunk driving crackdowns, there will be promotions on wearing seat belts in all seats, prohibition of convoy driving, and proper use of roundabouts. At the same time, intensive crackdowns will also focus on risk factors such as overloaded trucks, signal violations, reckless and retaliatory driving.
