"Israel Weighs Painful Retaliation Without Triggering Full-Scale War with Iran"

As Israel, which suffered Iran's first direct attack, is determining the level of retaliation, analysis suggests that it is focusing on painful retaliation against Iran without triggering a full-scale war.

Israel's Channel 12 broadcast on the 15th (local time) reported that multiple retaliation methods are being discussed as options in the wartime cabinet. The wartime cabinet also aims to choose a method that allies such as the United States do not oppose, the broadcast added.

Earlier, on the night of the 13th, Iran launched an airstrike on military facilities on Israeli mainland using 170 drones, 30 cruise missiles, and 120 ballistic missiles. This is the first time since the 1979 Islamic Revolution that Iran has directly attacked the Israeli mainland.

The Israel Defense Forces stated that they intercepted 99% of Iran's airborne weapons. They claimed that some ballistic missiles fell on the southern Nevatim Airbase but caused no significant damage. US ABC News reported that among the ballistic missiles Iran fired at that time, nine penetrated the defense systems of Israel and the United States, and five of these landed at Nevatim Airbase, damaging a C-130 transport plane, an unused runway, and empty warehouses.
