Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, "Provincial Administration Must Be Close to Residents"

Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, ordered a shift to a "field-centered provincial administration that visits residents" during the expanded executive meeting held at the Gyeongnam Provincial Government Office on the 15th.

Governor Park emphasized, "We must break away from the fixed notion that administrative services are centered around the provincial government office."

He also said, "Please expand opportunities for each department to directly visit the field and provide administrative services," and "Administrative services or events conducted by the province should take place where the residents are."

He cited examples such as the "Traveling Exhibition," which tours the collections of the Gyeongnam Provincial Museum of Art to various regions within the province, and the recent Reservist Day event held at the Army's 39th Division, saying, "We must carry out administration that residents can directly feel."

Governor Park stated, "For severe diseases such as cancer and dementia, Gyeongnam Province must play a role on the front lines to alleviate the hardships and inconveniences experienced by the affected residents and their families," and instructed the discovery of support measures for them.

He urged, "Regarding medical care, the most difficult part for residents is likely dealing with severe diseases. We need to identify how many cancer or dementia patients are receiving benefits from medical facilities or care from their families, and consider what areas Gyeongnam Province can supplement."

Governor Park also emphasized the need to prepare for newly proposing bills related to provincial administration and major issues and policies that were not processed in the 21st National Assembly, such as the Special Act for the Promotion of Tourism in the Southern Coast, to the upcoming 22nd National Assembly.

Regarding the conflict between Israel and Iran, he said that it is necessary to identify difficulties faced by local companies and address areas requiring policy support.

Additionally, concerning the 63rd Gyeongnam Provincial Sports Festival opening on the 19th in Miryang, he said, "Re-examine to ensure that the character of the cultural and artistic sports festival promoted by Gyeongnam Province is clearly reflected."

Regarding the revision of national forest laws to revitalize mountain tourism promoted by the Korea Forest Service, he instructed, "Actively consult on development plans being planned by each city and county in the province and propose them to the Korea Forest Service."

He also gave instructions on ▲ discovering policies to address issues such as lack of funds and information faced by local companies pursuing digital transformation ▲ reviewing the expansion of bus routes to improve the public transportation system at Gyeongnam Masan Robot Land, which reopened on the 6th ▲ and the speedy establishment of comprehensive policy support including the operation of public late-night pharmacies, enactment of ordinances supporting isolated and reclusive youth and young adults, and conducting surveys on their actual conditions.
