'2023 Public Institution Win-Win Growth Evaluation'
Grade Up 3 Consecutive Years... First 'Best' for the Corporation
The Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service (KCOMWEL) has risen one step higher from the previous year's 'Excellent' grade to achieve the prestigious 'Best' grade for the first time in the corporation's history in the 2023 Public Institution Win-Win Growth Evaluation hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
Park Jong-gil, Director of the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service, is observing a demonstration of the autonomous wheelchair.
The Public Institution Win-Win Growth Evaluation has been conducted since 2007 to encourage public institutions to play a leading role in coexistence and cooperation, and in 2023, 134 public institutions were evaluated.
KCOMWEL derived coexistence and cooperation tasks that meet the demands of the public and local communities, and based on this, established and implemented systematic strategies. It carried out regional cooperation projects such as the 'Win-Win Cooperation Joint' event (Flea Market) in collaboration with local governments and revitalization of traditional markets. In particular, by leveraging its unique capabilities, the corporation promoted technology transfer of rehabilitation assistive devices to SMEs and supported certification for export, thereby aiding SMEs in technology commercialization and overseas market development.
Furthermore, to foster the growth of innovative companies, KCOMWEL supported performance testing (testbed) of innovative products and market linkage at its directly managed hospitals to strengthen competitiveness. It also actively promoted sustainable win-win growth projects through cooperation and partnerships, such as technology data escrow contracts for protecting SME technologies and support for venture and spin-off startups to create a startup ecosystem, receiving high evaluations.
Chairman Park Jong-gil stated, “Coexistence and cooperation with SMEs and small business owners and revitalization of the local economy are among the important responsibilities that public institutions must fulfill,” adding, “We will discover win-win cooperation models that meet the demands of the public and local communities and fulfill our role as a win-win growth partner that provides stability and reassurance to SMEs and small business owners.”
