Discussion on the Reality and Future of Foreign Resident and Multicultural Communities

Daegu Catholic University held a forum on the 12th at the on-campus Employment and Startup Center titled "Great Transformation in the Glocal Era, Directions for Lifelong Education for Regional Community Integration."


The event was co-hosted by Gyeongbuk Province and the Daegu Catholic University Lifelong Education System Support Project Group (LiFE2.0), and organized by the Gyeongbuk Future Life College of Daegu Catholic University.

Daegu Catholic University Hosts 'Great Transformation in the Glocal Era, Lifelong Education Forum' Daegu Catholic University held a forum on the 12th at the on-campus Employment and Startup Center, focusing on the direction of lifelong education for community integration.

This forum discussed the theme "Foreign Residents in Gyeongbuk Province, Into Their Resonance," focusing on the diverse conditions for foreign residents in Gyeongbuk and the realities and future of multicultural regional communities.


The discussion was moderated by Professor Yoonju Lee, Special Appointment Professor at the Gyeongbuk Future Life College. The chair was Yongchan Kim, Director of Planning at Daegu Catholic University, and panelists included Sangsoo Lee, Head of Education Cooperation at the Gyeongsangbuk-do Local Era Policy Bureau. Various foreigners such as international students, workers, marriage immigrants, and local residents participated to share their experiences and presented various ideas regarding difficulties in multicultural society, the settlement potential in Gyeongbuk Province, and regional community integration.


Seong Han-gi, President of Daegu Catholic University, stated, "Through this forum, it is expected to be greatly helpful in providing a new transition in the glocal era by sharing the lives and experiences of foreigners such as international students, workers, and marriage immigrants in Korea, and in exploring directions for lifelong education through regional community integration."
