Moon Jae-in "The people felt pity, but we have risen as a confident party"
Former President Moon Jae-in congratulated the Joguk Innovation Party, which secured 12 proportional representation seats in the 22nd general election, saying it achieved "meaningful results."
Including Representative Jo Guk, the 12 elected members of the Joguk Innovation Party visited Pyeongsan Village in Yangsan, Gyeongnam, to pay a courtesy call on former President Moon. At the meeting, former President Moon said, "When the Joguk Innovation Party was founded, many citizens felt sympathy for it," adding, "It did not stop at that sympathy but stood tall as a proud political party." He continued, "The success is not limited to the Joguk Innovation Party alone. It sparked a wave of judgment against the regime and greatly contributed to the victory of the broad opposition," and said, "You can take pride in that."

Former President Moon said, "From now on, it is important," and added, "Just as the Joguk Innovation Party demonstrated new leadership and culture of a political party through collective intelligence, I expect it to change and develop Korean politics."
In response, Representative Jo said, "There were easy aspects in the general election, but there were also expected achievements," adding, "This is the result of the public coming together to support a newly established party that is about a month old. I believe the important part starts now." He continued, "The public's expectations are much greater than our capabilities. It seems even greater than the expectations for other parties. So, the responsibility feels heavy," and said, "I would appreciate a lot of advice."
The Joguk Innovation Party will hold a 2-day, 1-night workshop at Bongha Training Center starting today to discuss the party's leadership system and parliamentary strategy. On the 16th, they will also attend the 10th anniversary memorial ceremony of the April 16 Sewol Ferry disaster held in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province.
