Sales Increase 25% to $9.5 Billion, Top for 2 Consecutive Years
German semiconductor company Infineon announced on the 15th that it ranked first in the automotive semiconductor market last year.
According to market research firm TechInsights, Infineon recorded sales of $9.505 billion in the automotive semiconductor market last year, an increase of more than 25% compared to the previous year. Its market share last year was about 14%, slightly up from 13% the previous year. Through this, the company secured the number one position in the market last year, following 2022.
Infineon increased its market share in all regions, particularly maintaining the market lead in South Korea and China. Peter Schiefer, head of Infineon's Automotive Division, explained, "We achieved this performance based on Infineon's product innovation and system capabilities that add value to customer solutions."
Last year, Infineon's automotive microcontroller (MCU) sales surged 44% compared to the previous year, resulting in about a 29% market share in that segment, achieving the world's number one position for the first time.
The total automotive semiconductor market size last year was $69.2 billion, showing a 16.5% increase compared to the previous year.
