A secretary accused of embezzling 2.6 billion KRW from Noh So-young, director of Art Center Nabi, has been arrested.
According to the police and legal circles on the 15th, Shin Han-mi, the chief judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Western District Court, issued an arrest warrant on the 12th for A, the former secretary of Director Noh, who is suspected of fraud and forgery of private documents under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes, citing concerns over flight risk.
A, who joined Art Center Nabi in 2019, is accused of transferring approximately 1.975 billion KRW from Director Noh’s account to their own account dozens of times from December of the same year until the end of last year.
Additionally, A is suspected of opening a bank account using Director Noh’s name and embezzling a total of 190 million KRW through two loans taken out between 2020 and 2022. Furthermore, last year, A allegedly impersonated Director Noh and sent text messages to Art Center employees instructing them to transfer bonus payments, thereby embezzling 500 million KRW in public funds.
The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul, which received Director Noh’s complaint in January and has been investigating since, reportedly applied for A’s arrest warrant on the 8th.
