On the 15th, Boryeong City announced that the couple Kim Yohan (37) and Jang Mina (41) will give birth to triplets in May.
The couple already has one child (8 years old), making them parents of four children including the triplets.
Mayor Kim Dongil visited the family to offer congratulations on the birth and delivered support supplies for the newborns.
The city provides childbirth and childcare support funds of 1 million won for the first child, 3 million won for the second, 5 million won for the third, and 15 million won for the fourth. The couple will receive a total of 23 million won in support over 10 years.
Mr. Kim Yohan said, "I would like to thank everyone who congratulated us on the pregnancy of the triplets," and added, "We will raise the children diligently with the support and encouragement we have received."
Mayor Kim said, "Having triplets in this era of low birth rates is a great blessing and fortune," and added, "Raising four children is not an easy task, but I hope they raise their children healthily and happily."
