The Seocheon Police Station in Chungnam arrested Mr. A on charges of violating the Specific Punishment Act (theft) for breaking into vehicles parked in an apartment parking lot.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of breaking into trucks parked in apartment parking lots in Seocheon-gun and Gunsan, Jeonbuk, from February 7 to March 11, stealing cash and valuables worth approximately 20 million won.
Police investigation revealed that Mr. A (in his 30s) targeted the late-night hours when few people were around the apartment parking lots, minimizing the risk of being caught, and opened parked vehicle doors to steal cash and valuables stored inside.
A police official urged, "Please make sure to lock your vehicle doors when parking and avoid keeping cash or valuables inside your vehicle as much as possible."
