Democratic Party Chungnam Elected Official: "We Will Repay the Meaning of the General Election Vote with Achievements"

The elected members of the Democratic Party of Korea from the Chungnam region in the 22nd National Assembly election announced on the 15th that they will "overcome the livelihood crisis and correct the wrong national administration."

Including Bok Gi-wang, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea Chungnam Provincial Party, the eight elected members held a press conference at the Chungnam Provincial Office and said, "It is the first time that the Democratic Party has secured eight seats in the National Assembly election," adding, "We believe this is the residents' mandate to take greater responsibility and care for their livelihoods, and we will do our best to fulfill that will."

They also stated, "We will carefully fulfill each promise made during the election process so that Chungnam can develop into the center of the Republic of Korea," and added, "We will definitely secure the budget and enact legislation to repay the significance of the vote with tangible results."

Chairman Bok emphasized, "The background behind the good results in this election was largely due to the sacrifice and determination of former Chungnam Governor Yang Seung-jo, who ran in Hongseong-Yesan, and I extend my gratitude on behalf of everyone," adding, "Although this challenge ended in failure, we will work together with former Governor Yang in operating the Chungnam Provincial Party going forward."

Regarding cooperation with Kim Tae-heum, governor of Chungnam from the People Power Party, he said, "Cooperation depends on who approaches it more humbly, and the Democratic Party will take a humble stance regarding the province in the future," adding, "If the governor and the mayors and county heads from the People Power Party work together as local workers rather than as party members, there will be no conflicts."

In the 22nd National Assembly election, the Democratic Party of Korea achieved a landslide victory in Chungnam by winning eight out of eleven constituencies. The elected members are Moon Jin-seok from Cheonan Gap, Lee Jae-gwan from Cheonan Eul, Lee Jeong-moon from Cheonan Byeong, Bok Gi-wang from Asan Gap, Kang Hoon-sik from Asan Eul, Hwang Myung-seon from Nonsan-Gyeryong-Geumsan, Eo Gi-gu from Dangjin, and Park Soo-hyun from Gongju-Buyeo-Cheongyang.
