Geumcheon-gu Establishes 2025 Autonomy Plan Through Public-Private Cooperation with Resident Autonomy Committee

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will hold a 'Public-Private Cooperation Workshop' and operate a 'Visiting Consulting' service to establish the 2025 autonomous plan for the Residents' Autonomy Council.

This was prepared to support the establishment of a stable autonomy plan with the participation of many residents and to enable them to directly identify local issues and propose policies.

The autonomy plan consists of ▲ Residents' Autonomy Council operation plan ▲ Dong administrative affairs consultation plan ▲ Dong administrative affairs consignment and promotion plan ▲ Autonomy center operation plan ▲ Project plans by Residents' Autonomy Council subcommittees ▲ Resident participation budget project plans allocated to the Dong ▲ and other plans to revitalize residents' autonomy and village communities.

The 'Public-Private Cooperation Workshop' will be held on the 17th from 2 PM for three hours at the Geumcheon-gu Office auditorium. About 90 people, including Residents' Autonomy Council executives, secretariat members, and public officials related to community service centers, will attend to share activity methods and information for establishing the autonomy plan.

The first part will cover cases of public forums for collecting residents' opinions to establish the autonomy plan, and the second part will provide guidance on the overall establishment of the autonomy plan and holding residents' general meetings. The president of the Residents' Autonomy Council of Jakjeon-Seoun-dong, Gyeyang-gu, Incheon Metropolitan City, and the head of the Residents' Autonomy Project Team of Geumcheon-gu will serve as instructors.

The 'Visiting Consulting' will be conducted by Dong from May 27 to June 7 as a preliminary inspection of the autonomy plan. It will check policy directions and any inconsistencies with laws and ordinances to enhance the completeness of the autonomy plan. To strengthen the support system for public-private cooperation, community service center officials will also participate together with the Residents' Autonomy Council.

In addition, to revise the activity vision of the Residents' Autonomy Council established in 2022, various methods such as surveys and visiting briefings will be used to gather residents' opinions. The activity vision will be revised to be closely connected with the local community and to strengthen residents' representativeness.

This year, the district is establishing the 'Geumcheon-type Residents' Autonomy Council 2.0 Basic Plan' to support the Residents' Autonomy Council in strengthening residents' representativeness through highly public activities in various ways.

Four major tasks have been selected: ▲ Ordinance and system maintenance ▲ Activation of consigned projects ▲ Strengthening residents' representativeness ▲ Enhancing operational capabilities, and a roadmap is being announced and implemented until 2026.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "Through the Geumcheon-type Residents' Autonomy Council policy, we will secure a sustainable operational foundation for the Residents' Autonomy Council and actively support it to become a key player in public-private cooperation."
