Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Opens Art Play Class for Youth with Migration Backgrounds

Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced on the 14th that it opened the art play class, ‘Ya(hoeseo)Nolja School,’ on the 13th, where students who entered the country mid-term, children of Koryoin compatriots, and Korean youth come together.

As part of this year’s priority project for coexistence education for youth with migration backgrounds, Gwangsan-gu is conducting the program with about 30 youth with migration backgrounds and Korean youth at the Yaho Center (Wolgok-dong Youth Culture House) until November.

Gwangsan-gu planned the art play class with the aim of creating a space where Korean youth and youth with migration backgrounds can understand each other’s cultures, interact, and grow together through culture and arts.

The art play class offers three programs: ▲ Upcycling Art Playground ▲ Keyboard Orchestra ▲ K-POP Dance ‘All About Dance.’ The Keyboard Orchestra and K-POP Dance programs are held every Saturday morning with professional instructors in classes of about 15 students each, and the Upcycling Art Playground is scheduled to start in May.
