Jo Guk, leader of the Jo Guk Innovation Party, officially requested a meeting with President Yoon Seok-yeol on the 14th in his capacity as the leader of the third-largest party in the National Assembly.

On the same day, Jo stated on his social media (SNS), "As the leader of the third-largest party in the National Assembly, I hope to meet President Yoon Seok-yeol anytime and in any format," adding, "At a public meeting, I will be polite but firm in what I want to say."

Jo criticized that no summit meeting between President Yoon and Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, has been held in the past two years. He said, "President Yoon did not meet Lee Jae-myung before the general election because he aimed to have Lee detained. He saw him not as a 'partner in governance' but as a 'suspect.'"

Jo said, "He probably believed that using the prosecution to eliminate political opponents would ensure victory in the general election and the reestablishment of the regime. It was a petty and shabby thought," adding, "However, President Yoon's goal was thwarted, and the People Power Party (Gukminui Him) suffered a crushing defeat in the general election."

He then said, "I look forward to a response from the Yongsan Presidential Office to this public request."

Kim Bo-hyeop, spokesperson for the Jo Guk Innovation Party, issued a statement on the same day, saying, "If they want to correct state affairs, a special investigation into the pressure on the investigation of Sergeant Chae Sang-byeong must be conducted first." Kim said, "There are opinions within the People Power Party that the special investigation law regarding the pressure on the investigation of Sergeant Chae Sang-byeong's death in the line of duty should be accepted," adding, "Although it is very late, I think it is fortunate even now."

He said, "The public is watching. Whether the People Power Party is trying to renew itself or just trying to avoid the storm with a 'trick' first," adding, "The special investigation law on Sergeant Chae will be the standard to distinguish truth from falsehood." Kim also said, "I hope the Democratic Party, the largest party, will lead the passage of the special investigation law on Sergeant Chae in the 21st National Assembly," and "The Jo Guk Innovation Party will also lend its support."
