Pro-Iran Armed Faction Fires About 40 Shots
Reports of Drone Attack on Israeli Military Base
"Response to Attack on Civilian Homes" Claimed
As speculation mounts that Iran's retaliatory attack against Israel is imminent, Hezbollah, the Lebanese armed faction supported by Iran, launched rocket and drone attacks on Israeli military positions.

According to the Times of Israel on the 13th (local time), Hezbollah fired about 40 rockets at an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) artillery position in northern Israel the previous night.
The Israeli military stated, "Approximately 40 projectiles were detected coming from Lebanese territory, some of which were intercepted," adding, "No injuries have been reported as a result."
Alongside this, TASS news agency reported that Hezbollah carried out a drone attack on an Israeli military base located in the Ramot Naftali village, 4 km east of the Israel-Lebanon border.
Hezbollah's attack came amid growing expectations that Iran will soon carry out retaliatory strikes against Israel. Earlier, on the 1st, the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria, was bombed, resulting in the deaths of senior officials of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. Iran accused Israel of being behind the bombing and warned of retaliation.
However, Hezbollah claimed that their attack was "a response to the enemy's attacks on southern Lebanese villages and civilian homes." The Israeli military said that on the same day, it conducted multiple airstrikes targeting "military buildings" used by Hezbollah operatives in southern Lebanese towns such as Aita al-Shaab and Taybeh.
Since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict following the surprise attack by the Palestinian armed faction Hamas on October 7 last year, clashes between Hezbollah, which supports Hamas, and Israel have continued along the Israel-Lebanon border area.
