Gyeonggi-do Launches Youth Support Project Team… Kim Dong-yeon "Let's Create a Happy World for Youth"

The Gyeonggi-do Youth Support Project Group was launched on the 13th.

The Gyeonggi Welfare Foundation announced that on the same day, a launch ceremony was held at Dodamso (the former Gyeonggi-do Governor's official residence) with Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon and about 80 people selected as youth communities in attendance.

The project group will operate 25 "Youth Communities" to support local activities of youth in the province and to nurture youth activists until November.

Governor Kim Dong-yeon emphasized, "I wish all our youth could be happy, but our society, the older generation, the system, and politics are not making that possible," adding, "If more opportunities, more equal opportunities, and better opportunities are given, all youth, residents, and citizens can be happy."

He continued, "I hope we can join forces to create a world where our youth and residents can do whatever they want in various fields," and added, "I want our youth and residents to be happy every day."

The Gyeonggi-do Youth Community project is one of the youth projects of the 8th local government administration, providing opportunities to strengthen the capabilities necessary for youth to enter society through various activity supports and nurturing youth activists.

Earlier, Gyeonggi-do conducted a public recruitment in January targeting youth aged 19 to 39 residing in the province with groups of five or more, and after document screening, selected 25 teams.

Until November, they will engage in various fields such as ▲ communicating and interacting with local residents through cultural and artistic activities ▲ enhancing local community vitality through local content development ▲ supporting settlement and network formation for local youth ▲ providing healing and social participation support for multicultural families, single-person households, and marginalized groups ▲ attracting youth to rural areas and raising interest.

At the launch ceremony, starting with a congratulatory performance by Arimori Ensemble, which is active as a Gyeonggi-do Youth Community, the teams encouraged each other’s activities and strengthened cooperation through a 31-second team showcase, mission completion, and block puzzle completion.

During the "A Word of Empathy" session, Governor Kim Dong-yeon and the youth communities shared and empathized with the concerns of youth and had an open communication time without formality.

Meanwhile, starting with the launch ceremony, the Gyeonggi Youth Support Project Group plans to continuously create opportunities for exchange and cooperation among youth communities through activities such as operating promotional supporters from May. Customized education and expert consulting will also be provided to strengthen the capabilities of youth communities. In November, a performance sharing event will be held to share and spread the achievements of youth community activities.
