Surpassing 21 Million Views Amid Controversy
A couple lying on their seats, hugging each other throughout the entire flight, has become the center of controversy.
Recently, a photo posted on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption "I can't believe what I saw" went viral. The photo showed a man and a woman occupying three economy class seats. The couple was tangled up on the airplane seats, even making heart shapes with their hands. Notably, their bare feet were sticking out into the aisle, and one of them was seen resting their foot on the seat in front, which caused public disapproval.
The poster shared, "They were like that for the entire 4-hour flight," describing the situation at the time. However, details such as the flight and the couple’s nationality were not disclosed. The post has now surpassed 21 million views.
Under South Korea’s Aviation Security Act, anyone who causes sexual embarrassment to others inside an aircraft on the ground can be fined up to 5 million KRW.
Cases of disruptive passengers causing trouble on flights have been continuously reported. In December last year, a 53-year-old male passenger urinated into a cup while disembarking was delayed after landing at Sydney Airport. In February, the Sydney court fined the man 600 Australian dollars (approximately 540,000 KRW).
In China, a passenger who believed in the superstition that throwing coins into an airplane engine brings good luck caused a flight delay of about four hours. Throwing coins into an engine can cause engine damage or power loss.
