A Post Titled 'Shin Jang-sik Adultery Allegation' Was Posted and Deleted on the Jojukdang Homepage

'Adultery Shin Jang-sik and Speechless Cho Kuk' Title Post
Divorce Claim Raised Over Shin Jang-sik's Adultery 20 Years Ago

Shin Jang-sik, a proportional representative elected in the 22nd general election from the Joguk Innovation Party, has been accused of having committed adultery over 20 years ago.

On the 13th, a post titled "Adulterer Shin Jang-sik and Silenced Joguk" was uploaded on the Joguk Innovation Party's website bulletin board but was deleted shortly after. The author introduced himself as the ex-husband of a female executive of the Democratic Labor Party and claimed that during their newlywed life in 2003, his ex-wife and Representative Shin had an adulterous relationship.

The author wrote, "One day, when I tracked my wife's phone location, who said she was in a meeting, I found her in the suburbs of the metropolitan area. I went looking for her and saw my wife and Representative Shin taking out North Korean liquor bought during a visit to the North from the trunk of my wife's car and entering a motel."

The author, who said, "I was shocked and left a long text message, then did not go home for several days," added, "A few days later, thinking I should forgive my wife, I returned home and tried to open the door, but it was locked. A neighbor came out and said, 'We need to call a locksmith to open the door,' and then I received a call from my wife saying, 'Please go away because I am with that man.'"

The author claimed that he divorced over this issue. He also said that upon hearing in 2017 that Representative Shin and his ex-wife were working together as party leader and secretary-general in the same party, they each filed for alimony. He conveyed, "When I met Shin Jang-sik at that time, he said, 'Our relationship has been resolved, and we work as comrades.'"

The author wrote, "People who worked at the highest levels of progressive politics in 2004 committed adultery and shamelessly invaded the master bedroom of the newlywed home while the husband was away. Do they feel any pangs of conscience? Whether they work in broadcasting or as lawyers is none of my business, but at the very least, they should not become representatives of the people. Shin Jang-sik must be re-evaluated by the public, not the party, for the mistakes he committed."

Regarding this, neither Representative Shin nor the Joguk Innovation Party, which won 12 seats in the April 10 general election, reportedly responded to the media at all. The Joguk Innovation Party stated, "The party does not respond to personal issues of elected representatives." Regarding the deletion of the post, they claimed, "There have been no recently deleted posts."
