Hanwha Ocean has officially announced the establishment of a shipping company.
On the 12th, Hanwha Ocean disclosed that it will establish a shipping company named 'Hanwha Shipping LLC' with the purpose of serving as a platform to verify eco-friendly and digital ship technologies. The establishment entity is Hanwha Ocean's U.S. subsidiary.
Hanwha Ocean stated, "We aim to verify and secure the practicality and stability through the operation of ships equipped with eco-friendly and digital technologies currently under development, and to actively build cooperative relationships with customers."
Meanwhile, in a separate statement regarding the establishment of the shipping company, Hanwha Ocean said, "From the shipowner's perspective, once a ship is ordered, it must be used for more than 20 years, so it is difficult to find pioneers who apply and operate new technologies in the actual shipping industry. We will order ships through our own shipping company to demonstrate various methods and, through this, provide world-class eco-friendly ships."
