913 Billion KRW Increase Compared to the First Supplementary Budget
Focused Investment in Completion of Major Projects and Infrastructure Development
Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it has prepared the 2nd supplementary budget for this year and submitted it to the city council on the 12th.
The 2nd supplementary budget is 1.2702 trillion KRW, an increase of 91.3 billion KRW compared to the 1st supplementary budget, with the general account increasing by 88.3 billion KRW to 1.0899 trillion KRW compared to the original budget.
Due to the government's decrease in tax revenue, last year in the 5th supplementary general account budget, local allocation tax was reduced by 15.93% from the original budget to 39.2 billion KRW, and adjustment grants and others were reduced by 14.45% to 16.2 billion KRW, totaling a cut of 45.4 billion KRW. In this year's original budget, ordinary allocation tax was set at 199.5 billion KRW, down 22.4 billion KRW from last year's 221.9 billion KRW, and general adjustment grants were set at 107.9 billion KRW, a decrease of 7.8 billion KRW from the previous year.
The city explained that through this supplementary budget, it focused on securing insufficient revenue resources by injecting 46 billion KRW from the Integrated Financial Stabilization Fund to projects for large-scale construction and infrastructure scheduled for completion by the end of the year.
By sector, in the field of citizen safety, the budget includes ▲3 hundred million KRW for the Smart Integrated Management System construction project ▲2 billion KRW for pipeline support in urban gas supply vulnerable areas ▲1 billion KRW for aged sewage pipeline maintenance ▲160 million KRW for the comprehensive restoration project in Juksan District.
In education and welfare, the budget includes ▲6.46 billion KRW for relocating and constructing the Lifelong Learning Center ▲4.88 billion KRW for building a Family Center ▲3.6 billion KRW for constructing facilities for the disabled ▲500 million KRW for renovating old restrooms at Gaon High School ▲100 million KRW for transportation support for pregnant women ▲500 million KRW for elderly bathing and beauty support.
In culture and tourism, the budget includes ▲7 billion KRW for constructing the National Sports Center at the former Baekseong Elementary School site ▲600 million KRW for preliminary projects to establish the Republic of Korea Cultural City ▲900 million KRW for maintenance of the Eastern Region Sports Park ▲140 million KRW for library specialized programs and reading support for vulnerable groups.
Other major investment projects include ▲3 billion KRW for constructing the Samjuk-myeon Administrative Welfare Center ▲1 billion KRW for constructing the Seoun-myeon Administrative Welfare Center ▲9 billion KRW for road expansion and paving works ▲7.53 billion KRW for urban planning road construction.
Kim Bora, mayor of Anseong City, said, "Despite difficult financial conditions, we focused on investments to grow into a city that can prepare for a sustainable future."
The supplementary budget will be finalized on the 2nd of next month after deliberation at the city council's extraordinary session starting on the 22nd.
