[Click eStock] "Digital Daesung Strengthens Offline Academy Business"

Yuanta Securities analyzed on the 12th that Digita Daesung's subsidiary, Igam, which is the number one company in the field of high school Korean language mock exams, is growing.


Digita Daesung is a company engaged in educational business targeting university entrance exam students and elementary school students.


Kwon Myung-jun, a researcher at Yuanta Securities, explained, "Igam's sales increased from 3.1 billion KRW in 2015 to 30.2 billion KRW last year," adding, "The operating profit margin has been maintained at over 30%." He continued, "They started a weekly magazine called 'Gansseulgae' for first and second-year high school students," and "are expanding the brand to other subjects including mathematics." He emphasized, "We expect sales growth through expansion based on the unique brand awareness."


Researcher Kwon analyzed, "As seen in last year's private education expenditure survey results, offline private education expenses related to university entrance exam education are rapidly increasing," and "Digita Daesung owns Gangnam Daesung Dormitory Academy related to university entrance exams." Furthermore, he explained, "To strengthen the offline business, they decided to acquire shares of Hobup Gangnam Daesung Dormitory Academy," adding, "This is to enhance their medical school entrance exam capabilities."
