Cumulative Leave of Absence Applications Reach 10,401
55.3% of All Medical School Students
As medical schools nationwide resume classes, medical students continue to apply for leave of absence.
On the 11th, the Ministry of Education announced that, based on a survey conducted on the 9th and 10th targeting 40 universities with medical schools, there were 24 valid leave applications from 5 universities, with a cumulative total of 10,401 applications received. This accounts for 55.3% of all enrolled medical students. One student from one university withdrew their leave application, and leave was approved for 4 students from 3 universities.

The Ministry of Education explained that there were no cases of approved collective leave. Eight universities were confirmed to have class boycotts.
The Ministry of Education requested universities to normalize academic operations and repeatedly urged them to prevent approvals of collective leave.
Earlier, as of the 8th, the Ministry of Education announced that 16 universities were conducting classes and 23 universities planned to resume classes.
