Hamyang-gun Prevents Regional Disappearance by Revitalizing Public Facilities

Jin Byeong-yeong County Governor Visits Previous Area Rural Development Projects to Discuss Optimal Utilization Plans

Jin Byeong-yeong, the governor of Hamyang County in Gyeongnam, personally visited cultural, tourism, and experience sites as well as historic sites within the jurisdiction to check the on-site situation and discuss revitalization plans.

According to Hamyang County, Governor Jin visited the old Sangnae Baek Elementary School in Sudong-myeon, followed by the birthplace of No Eung-gyu, the old house of Heo Sam-dul in Anui-myeon, the wooden culture experience center, and the Anui relocation area in sequence, focusing on exploring new tourism themes using existing facilities.

County Governor Jin Byeong-yeong is conducting an on-site inspection of cultural, tourism, and experience business sites in the jurisdiction.

The old Sangnae Baek Elementary School site was purchased by the county, and various utilization plans are being explored to overcome local extinction.

He then visited the Heo Sam-dul Old House (National Folk Cultural Heritage No. 207), the birthplace of Independence Movement leader No Eung-gyu (Independence Movement Memorial Facility No. 43-1-56), and the Hamyang Wooden Culture Experience Center, which began full operation on April 5, to directly check the status of cultural heritage maintenance and program operations.

He also reviewed the overall status of the traditional play experience center and the hanok loess pension, which were created as part of the Anui relocation area comprehensive maintenance project in 2007.

Governor Jin emphasized, “For the sustainable development of our county, we must closely communicate with residents to consider ways to utilize idle public properties and prepare optimal alternatives together.”

Meanwhile, since March, Governor Jin has been dedicating himself to accelerating county administration by conducting weekly on-site inspections of major county projects to promptly devise solutions.
