Anduk Geun, Minister of Industry, Makes First Visit to the U.S. Since Inauguration... Discusses Trade Issues Including IRA and Semiconductor Act

Minister Anduk Geun of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will visit Washington D.C., USA from the 10th to the 12th. This visit marks Minister Ahn's first trip to the U.S. since his appointment, during which he plans to meet key figures from the administration, Congress, and major think tanks, including the U.S. Secretaries of Commerce and Energy, to broadly discuss Korea-U.S. industrial and energy cooperation measures and trade issues.

Last April, during the President's state visit to the U.S., the two countries agreed on cooperation in advanced industries such as semiconductors and clean energy through the Korea-U.S. ministerial-level Supply Chain Coordination Dialogue (SCCD) and the Korea-U.S. Energy Ministers' Meeting. Through this visit, Minister Ahn will discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in advanced industries and clean energy, as well as hold consultations regarding U.S. semiconductor subsidies and incentives related to the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
