Opening of the 4th Daycare Center at Suwon Site

Samsung Electronics announced on the 9th that it has expanded daycare centers at Samsung Digital City (Suwon Campus). This realizes Chairman Lee Jae-yong's management philosophy of reducing childcare burdens for employees balancing work and parenting, allowing them to focus on their tasks.

Samsung Electronics built a new 4th daycare center at Samsung Digital City (Suwon Campus) with a childcare capacity of 300 children and a total building area of 1,780 pyeong, and held an opening ceremony on the same day.
Samsung Electronics currently operates three daycare centers at Samsung Digital City. With the addition of this new daycare center, the total childcare capacity reaches 1,200 children, and the total building area of the daycare centers is 6,080 pyeong. According to Samsung Electronics, this is the largest daycare center operation based on a single business site nationwide.
Currently, about 30% of the workforce at Samsung Digital City have infants and young children. The 4th daycare center was newly built to meet the demand for employee daycare admissions.
The Samsung Digital City daycare center, which first opened in 1996 with a childcare capacity of 94 children, has grown more than 12 times in size over 28 years. There are currently 240 staff members, with one teacher caring for 4.6 children on average.
Samsung Electronics currently operates 12 daycare centers across 8 business sites nationwide, with a total childcare capacity of 3,100 children. Any employee with children aged 1 to 5 years old can apply.

About 100 people attended the opening ceremony, including Park Hak-gyu, President of Samsung Electronics Management Support Office; Na Ki-hong, Vice President and Head of HR Team; Kim Young-ho, Vice President and Head of Suwon Support Center; daycare center staff; parents; and construction officials related to the daycare center.
President Park Hak-gyu said, "With the expansion of the 4th daycare center, I am confident that it will help reduce childcare burdens for employees and create a better environment for raising children. We will actively support so that employees can entrust their children with greater peace of mind."
