Training on 'Pet Care and Understanding' for Middle School Teachers
Dongmyung University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) recently announced on the 9th that it has been selected as the '2024 First Half Busan Metropolitan Office of Education Teacher Special Field Training Institution.'
The university will conduct training on 'Pet Management and Understanding' for 30 secondary school teachers nationwide from July 25 to 30 in the multipurpose lecture room of the College of Companion Animals.
The sessions will cover ▲Pet Tech Industry ▲Health Management (Hygiene, Exercise, Disease) ▲Pet Management, Lifecycle Management, Basic Act on Companion Animals, Coexistence of Humans and Animals ▲Understanding Nutrition, Nutrition Management, and Snack Making Practice.
Jo Jae-hyung, Director of the Companion Animal Education and Culture Center, said, “As the number of pet-owning households rapidly increases, we hope that teachers nationwide will raise awareness of coexistence between dogs and humans and provide good educational delivery about dogs to students.”
Dongmyung University established the nation's first College of Companion Animals in 2023, operating ▲Department of Companion Animal Health ▲Department of Dog Grooming and Behavior Correction ▲Department of Companion Animal Industry (Pet Food Major, Companion Animal Industry Design Major). The first companion animal university hospital in the Busan-Ulsan region is also being established on the Dongmyung University campus, and a 1,624㎡ dog playground called ‘Dongsup’ (Forest Playground for Animals) is being piloted on campus.
