Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) will hold regular monthly concerts at 'Cafe Pokpo,' located opposite Hongje Waterfall.
The district has set up a temporary stage in front of the cafe so that citizens can enjoy cultural and artistic content and foreigners can experience Korean music. This outdoor concert, where attendees can sit at outdoor tables and enjoy the performance, will start at 4 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month from this month through October.
Cafe Pokpo opened as a waterside emotional space in April last year. Since then, over 300,000 domestic and international visitors have come, and related content introduced on social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram has surpassed 10 million views, making it a global attraction.
The concert's music genres and themes change monthly. In May, the month of family, vocal and pop performances enjoyable for all ages will be held, and in July, jazz performances in collaboration with Digital Seoul Culture & Arts University will take place. In October, rock and hip-hop music will be the main focus of the performances.
The first concert, held on the 18th of this month, will feature the three-member indie band 'Goonamgwa Yeo Riding Stella,' 'Jaoseon,' and 'DJ Hodori.'
Goonamgwa Yeo Riding Stella has participated in Seodaemun-gu indie music concerts for two consecutive years and has a strong connection to the area, releasing their fourth album 'Moraenae Fantasy' with Moraenae Market in Namgajwa-dong as the backdrop.
