The Chungnam Office of Education will operate a Safety Week from the 8th to the 26th in observance of National Safety Day on the 16th.
Since this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Sewol ferry disaster, the province plans to hold memorial events for the students and staff who lost their lives.
On the 6th, a disaster and safety photo exhibition will be held, and a visit to the Ansan 4·16 Memory Classroom is scheduled. On the 25th, the 416 Choir will perform at the Chungnam Office of Education Student Education and Culture Center, followed by a screening of the 4·16 Sewol ferry disaster documentary film "Remember, Spring."
Additionally, to prevent disasters, experiential education such as fire extinguisher usage, online disaster safety awareness training, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training, and survival backpack packing will be conducted during Safety Week.
Superintendent Kim Ji-cheol said, "On the 10th anniversary of the Sewol ferry disaster, let us remember the pain of that day and work together as an educational community to create a safe Chungnam education environment 365 days a year."
