Selected for Aging Tourist Site Revitalization Project Competition... Secured 2 Billion KRW in Project Funding
Designated as a national tourist destination in 19778, the aging facilities and environment of Damyangho National Tourist Site (Chuwolsan District) in Jeonnam, Damyang, are set to be renovated after 47 years.
Damyang County announced on the 8th that Damyangho National Tourist Site was selected for Jeonnam Province's '2024 Aging Tourist Site Regeneration Project,' securing a project budget of 2 billion KRW.
The 2024 Aging Tourist Site Regeneration Project is a public contest selecting 3 out of 29 sites, including 27 tourist destinations and 2 tourist special zones within Jeonnam Province, to supplement and regenerate aging tourist facilities and programs.
Through this selection, the county plans to renovate the old restrooms and parking lots, add nighttime attractions, and develop the Chuwolsan District into a stay-type tourist destination linked with the International Meditation Center scheduled to be built.
County Governor Lee Byeong-no said, “With the confirmation of the public contest project, we will improve Damyangho Tourist Site, a representative tourist attraction of Damyang, so that it can revitalize the local economy and become a place where both residents and tourists can heal their body and mind.”
