Busan Gijang-gun to Host Traditional Folk Festival on Samwolsamjinnal

Opportunity to Experience and Inherit Our Traditional Culture and Old Customs on Samwol Samjitnal Day

Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) will hold the ‘2024 Samwolsamjinnal Traditional Folk Festival’ at the Gijang Yongsowellbeing Park Event Plaza on the 11th, hosted by the Gijang Cultural Center.

This event is organized to celebrate Samwolsamjinnal, a holiday marking the beginning of spring, by hosting the ‘Samwolsamjinnal Traditional Folk Festival’ to inherit and develop our traditional culture and provide residents with an opportunity to experience old customs.

Starting at 9:50 AM with pre-event performances including Samulnori and Dongnae Hakchum, the main event, Sansinje, will begin at 10:10 AM. Following this, a variety of cultural performances will be held, including ▲classical dance performances ▲fusion Janggu performances ▲line dance performances ▲ocarina performances ▲and a special Salpuri performance.

Kang Joo-hoon, director of the Gijang Cultural Center, said, “I hope this event will be an opportunity for residents to experience and inherit our traditional culture,” adding, “We have prepared a rich lineup of attractions including Dongnae Hakchum and the special Salpuri performance, so we ask for the deep interest and participation of all residents.”
