Exhibition of Representative Works such as 'Opera' and 'Origin'
The large-scale media experience exhibition of world-renowned animation director Eric Oh will be held on the 25th at House of Refuse in Aewol, Jeju City. It is titled 'O : Eric Oh Retrospective (O : AN ERICK OH RETROSPECTIVE)'. Numerous works recognized for their artistic quality and excellence, such as 'Opera' and 'Origin', will be presented as media art.
Eric Oh is an animator who participated in Pixar's 'Finding Dory' (2016) and 'Inside Out' (2015). The directed work 'Opera' was created for an installation media art exhibition projected onto walls and structures. It depicts the endless repetition of day and night to show conflicts among classes, cultures, religions, and ideologies throughout human history. It was the first Korean animation to be nominated for the Best Animated Short Film at the American Academy Awards and received the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award at the 2020 Korea Content Awards.
'Origin' explores the duality of life and asks, "Where did we come from, and where are we going?" It was first introduced at the 2022 Frieze Seoul event in the UK, attracting significant attention.
