Jeongeup City in Jeollabuk-do will conduct the 2024 Jeollabuk-do Special Self-Governing Province Social Survey from the 12th of this month to the 3rd of next month.
According to the city on the 8th, this survey is being promoted to understand citizens' quality of life and changes in social structure, and to use the data as a basis for regional policy development research.
The survey targets 1,005 households residing in the city, sampling households, and includes household heads or members aged 15 or older residing in the household.
The survey covers 53 items across 6 areas: ▲Household and Family ▲Consumption and Income ▲Employment and Labor Relations ▲Welfare ▲Social Participation ▲Provincial and City-specific characteristics.
Interviewers (27 people) will visit each household to conduct face-to-face interviews with the respondents as a principle, and if interviews are not possible, respondents can fill out the survey themselves and return it, which will also be conducted concurrently.
This year’s special survey items for the city include 10 topics: ▲Job Creation ▲Happiness ▲Awareness of Hazardous Waste ▲Management of Feral Companion Dogs ▲Local Safety Policies ▲Main Causes of Population Decline ▲Policies to Overcome Population Crisis ▲Support Measures for Women’s Employment ▲Building a Happy Jeongeup for Children ▲Employment Barriers for the Elderly.
The survey results will be announced in December after analysis and supplementation by a professional institution.
A city official said, “The results of investigating citizens’ social interests and quality of life will serve as basic data for policy establishment. Personal information collected for statistical purposes is strictly protected under Article 33 (Protection of Confidentiality) of the Statistics Act and will not be used for purposes other than statistics compilation. We ask for active participation when surveyors visit.”
