Gyeongbuk Office of Education Provides 100,000 KRW Each to 4,141 Students Unable to Afford Glasses in Welfare Blind Spots Gyeongbuk Office of Education.

This project is being promoted to support a more stable and healthy school life by strengthening educational welfare services for students in welfare blind spots, in addition to the priority educational welfare support project and educational welfare safety net project for vulnerable students.

The eyeglass support project for vulnerable students' eye health is designed to provide 100,000 KRW per student to those who need vision correction but face financial difficulties in purchasing glasses, thereby reducing the inconvenience in academic performance caused by low vision.

Eligible students can purchase corrective eyeglasses and submit receipts or other proof documents to their respective schools to receive support for the actual eyeglass purchase cost up to 100,000 KRW per person.

Students who received eyeglass purchase support in the 2023 academic year are excluded from eligibility; however, students who need to replace their glasses due to changes in vision or damage to their glasses can still receive support.

Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Office of Education, stated, “We will continue to carefully monitor students in welfare blind spots to help them grow into healthy adults by establishing an educational welfare safety net and expanding various welfare projects.”
