[Click eStock] "Curexo, Expecting Profitability Improvement in Medical Robot Sector"

Research Alume predicted on the 8th that Curexo's profitability in the robotics sector will improve starting from the second quarter of this year.

Woo Hwirang, a researcher at Research Alume, explained, "NVIDIA, a pioneer in artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductors, has also entered the healthcare field," adding, "NVIDIA announced the development of AI-based medical robots in collaboration with the healthcare company HippocratesAI."

He continued, "The 'Healthcare Agent' applying large language models (LLM) enables communication with humans through an 'ultra-low latency conversational response' method," emphasizing, "Compared to human nurses, it showed superiority in ▲identifying drug effects ▲distinguishing over-the-counter drugs not allowed under specific conditions ▲comparing drug values and reference ranges ▲detecting toxic doses of over-the-counter drugs."

He stated, "Using robots will maximize the reduction of nurse labor costs, which reach up to $90 per hour," and added, "It is expected that the use of robots will increase not only for nurses but also for doctors' prescriptions and surgeries."

Researcher Woo analyzed, "Curexo-Spine is a robot that precisely guides and fixes pedicle screws during spinal surgeries according to the surgical plan," noting, "It supports both two-dimensional (C-Arm) and three-dimensional (O-Arm) imaging, enabling surgery with only 2 to 3 images."

He added, "Real-time monitoring of the patient's surgical position and intraoperative plan changes are also easy," and mentioned, "Curexo is one of the five major spinal surgery robot manufacturers."

Furthermore, he said, "We expect profitability improvement through cost reduction of Curexo-Joint and Qubis-Spine," explaining, "By applying robotic arms, they are supplied by robot manufacturers." He explained, "Recently, the robot arm manufacturer was changed to Neuromeka," estimating, "It is expected to reduce more than 40% of the robot arm cost."

It is estimated that this year’s sales will reach 85.3 billion KRW and operating profit 8.8 billion KRW, representing increases of 17.1% and 675.5%, respectively, compared to last year.
