Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is set to boost the local economy by accelerating the rapid execution of its budget.

Gwangsan-gu plans to swiftly execute 252.1 billion KRW within the first half of the year, aiming for an execution rate of 60%, higher than the initial target of 54%. To this end, on the 4th, it held the ‘2024 First Half Rapid Execution Promotion Status Report Meeting’ to recover the livelihood economy and revitalize the local economy.


At the report meeting, Gwangsan-gu reviewed the progress and execution plans of projects closely related to the livelihood economy and discussed measures to enhance execution capability. They plan to promote local finance rapid execution systems such as advance payment activation, emergency bidding, prior notification of government-supplied materials, and public sector prepayment. They also decided to expedite preliminary procedures to quickly execute the recently allocated first supplementary budget.


Park Byung-gyu, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, stated, “It is necessary to continuously share the difficult economic situation with citizens and make efforts to overcome the economic crisis through a spirit of coexistence.” He added, “We will prepare various measures to promote consumption, including early budget execution, and actively seek bold support measures for vulnerable groups.”
