About 20 Employees and 18 Wildfire Prevention and Suppression Team Members Participate
Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 4th that it conducted an early response training for spring forest fires around Galmasan Mountain, involving about 20 employees from the Forestry Department and 18 members of the specialized forest fire prevention and suppression team.
On this day, Vice-Gun Chief Lee Seon-gi personally directed the training, focusing on initial suppression in the event of a forest fire, including early firefighting by the specialized prevention and suppression team and the establishment of an on-site command center.
Vice-Gun Chief Lee said, "Early suppression is the most important factor when a forest fire occurs. Through this training, we will supplement any shortcomings and actively utilize the well-executed parts for forest fire suppression by promoting them."
Meanwhile, during the special forest fire prevention period (November 2023 to May 2024), the county plans to take strong measures to suppress forest fires, including imposing penalties and mandatory fines on those found responsible for causing forest fires, as well as for burning agricultural residues and garbage.
